IF believes it is imperative to create and sustain
links between Not for Profit organisations (NFPs) that will promote learning and increase
access to information and technical support. The organisations
listed below are current IF partners.
Lua Lemba Education and Community Development
Foundation (Lua Lemba)
Lua Lemba is an Indonesian not for profit organisation,
established four years ago in Dehla to manage the community
development activities of the Dehla communities. Lua
Lemba has established itself as a credible organisation
in the community, and community satisfaction with Lua
Lemba is very high.
Turusuala Village Model Training Centre
Turusuala is a residential vocational training centre
located in AvuAvu. It was established with strong community
financial and political support and has only been operating
since 2003.
Bonobo Conservation Initiative
BCI is a Washington-based NFP set up to help ensure
the survival of the great ape, the Bonobo, that exist
now only in small areas in the Congo. Their philosophy emphasizes that
Bonobos live in a human landscape and
that the local and indigenous people will be the ultimate
stewards of the land. IF is looking to partner with BCI
in supporting environmental and health initiatives for
communities surrounding Bonobo populations.
