University of Wollongong: since 2008 we have enjoyed a productive partnership with the University of Wollongong. The support of the University has delivered not only financial assistance, but also provided excellent opportunities to speak about the work we do. In addition to being part of the UOW Cares workplace giving program, this year the University of Wollongong Library chose us as their ‘charity of choice’ raising over $3,000. We also launched the inaugural University of Wollongong indigo foundation International Studies Prize.
Rotary Club of Ryde has been a pivotal supporter of our Borjegai Schools project having contributed $70,000 to build Koshak High School and pay qualified teachers for Borjegai High School. In addition, Rotary committed to the first full year of funding for our Tamil Nadu project. We expect this partnership to develop over time with much shared learning and some terrific joint achievements.
Illawarra Children’s Services: community-owned and not-for-profit, Illawarra Children’s Services has served children and families, with distinction since 1981. This year we established a partnership with ICS and they generously donated $10,000 towards our projects that focus on education and children, primarily the Rote early childhood support project. ICS Board member Jenny Hopkins travelled to Rote to provide technical support. We look forward to an ongoing and valuable partnership.
